Personalised support for gut health, IBS, weight and metabolic health.
Nutrition advice can feel overwhelming, especially when you are managing ongoing symptoms or several health concerns.
Our dietitians provide practical, evidence-based support tailored to your health, lifestyle and goals.
No. You do not need a GP referral to book an appointment with The Digestive Health Clinic. You can book directly with our dietitian clinic in Cork or choose an online dietitian appointment. If your GP or consultant has referred you, we are also happy to review any relevant medical history, blood results or test results as part of your assessment.
Yes. We offer both in-person dietitian appointments in Cork and online consultations. Online dietitian appointments are suitable for most clients and can be used for support with IBS, digestive symptoms, weight management, cholesterol, diabetes, GLP-1 nutrition support and other nutrition concerns.
The best option depends on your symptoms, goals and how much support you need. The two-appointment package is suitable for more focused concerns, while the 12-week programme is better suited to more complex or longer-standing issues that benefit from ongoing review and adjustment.
Many Irish health insurance plans include cover for appointments with a registered dietitian, although the amount you can claim varies depending on your provider and policy. We recommend checking your individual plan before booking. Receipts are provided for all dietitian appointments.
After booking, you will receive confirmation of your appointment along with any information you need beforehand. During your first dietitian consultation, we will review your symptoms, medical history, current eating pattern, lifestyle and goals. You will then receive clear, practical nutrition recommendations and a personalised plan. Follow-up support will depend on the package or programme you have chosen.
Yes, where appropriate. We can provide personalised meal ideas, meal structure guidance, portion suggestions and practical examples based on your symptoms, goals and lifestyle. Our focus is on helping you build a sustainable way of eating rather than following a rigid meal plan.
A dietitian does not diagnose medical conditions such as IBS, coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease or reflux. However, a specialist digestive health dietitian can assess your symptoms, identify nutrition-related factors, provide evidence-based dietary support and advise when further medical investigation may be appropriate. We can also work alongside your GP or gastroenterologist where needed.
